[NUMBER 415] 415 DERUTA FAIENCE BOWL ON FOOT ITALIAN, 16TH CENTURY With broad drum-shaped border and shallow well, invested with a metallic glaze on a decoration of olive-green, golden-brown, and blue on ground of gray-white. The well with portrait in medallion of woman in Renaissance costume, allegorical of the sense of smell. This medallion in a sunburst f rame; repeating border pattern of a conventionalized lily, and at the bottom, gadroons. Foot restored.
